On Monday, March 14, 2022, the restoration works on the floor of the Holy Church of the Resurrection were inaugurated.
This project is a continuation of the restoration works previously carried out on the Edible Holy Sepulchre four years ago. The project is being conducted under the agreement of the three churches responsible for the current status of the Church of the Resurrection: the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Franciscan Custody, and the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem, in cooperation with Sapienza University of Rome, which prepared the study for the project.
The project involves restoration works including maintenance or replacement of damaged floor tiles in the northern part of the Rotunda, as well as excavations in the underground area beneath the seven arches and in front of the Holy Sepulchre. The restoration is scheduled to be completed within 26 months and is funded by donors and sponsors.

Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem: His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, Metropolitan Kapitolias Isichios, Archbishop Konstantini Aristerchos, Archbishop Erapolis Isidoros, Archimandrite Translator Matthias, Archimandrite Nektarios Camaras, Archimandrite Bartholomew, and other fathers from the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre.

Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land: Guardian of the Holy Land Father Francesco Paton, Father Dobromero, and Father Athanasius Makoura.

Armenian Patriarchate: Bishop Sevan, Armenian Hegumen Father Samuel, Father Gurion, and other fathers from the Armenian Patriarchate.
The inauguration was also attended by the Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem, Mr. Evangelos Flioras, and the Church of the Resurrection engineer, Mr. Theodosios Mitropolous.
